The house is at a perfect location within 30 seconds of campus. One flaw with moving in here is the reputation of a party house. Neighbors will call police after 1 AM. The school and police do not like the house. The landlord is efficient and does what he is asked. The house is in order and is in general of high quality.

The house is in nice condition and is spacious—just a bit far from campus. The landlord, to be as nice as possible, is a pompous jerk. He is rude and is not helpful in repairing problems. His response is usually “What did you do?” and not “How can I help?” Ultimately he has no regard for the needs of his tenants. He would not let me park in his almost empty 6-car driveway because he wanted to be able to freely move his Corvette around. (He does not live near the house). Ultimately, he comes to our house whenever he wants without warning (a violation of our rights) to yell at us and accuse us of stealing in a drunken stupor. His house is nice, but to be avoided.

Neighbors were very laid back—We never got a noise complaint. The landlord was good, usually fixed things when asked. The house is not in great condition.

The house was somewhat downtrodden. This made it a good party house. Our landlord fixes things quickly when it is necessary. Our landlord respects our privacy, and I have been impressed by that. I’ve always felt safe in this neighborhood.

- Commented on us having male guests over
- Did not give us 24 hours notice before visiting
- Restricted us from doing laundry or making any comparable noise after 6:00 pm
- Our rights as tenants were not respected and the situation was so bad that we moved out.

The house was a bit of a hole, and only had two bedrooms, though both were big. We made one room into a double to decrease our rent. With three people, rent was $1500 and with two people it was $1400. The location was good, and the house had a driveway which was a great advantage. The landlord was more of a “do-it-yourself” type.

The house is large and in need of great repairs. You can have parties because there is a church and a parking lot on either side of the house. The landlord has been hands off but was responsive to our requests for maintenance. It is about a 15 minute walk to the campus center; otherwise, the neighborhood is generally safe.
